FROM THE DESK OF THE WEBMASTER
I have always been fascinated by seaside villages and the people who reside in and around these villages. The friendliness, the easy going nature, and everyday life in general. As someone who was born on an island, there were days when I wanted to walk and wander the beach for long hours which was very calming at a very young age.

It is safe to say, that travel, food, friends and culture go together in many ways. Needless to say, the food always seem tastier when I visit these villages. As someone who loves music of all kinds including Caribbean dance music, I have had many moments also of listening with my headset to a Mozart piece while the ocean waves meet with the sea wall on a late moonlit evening in Barbados. Oh what a sweet sound to the soul.

When I created Conga Bay, it was for the sole purpose of promoting travel to the Caribbean and beyond. However, there are other places in this getting smaller by the day global village of intrigue. Whether it is the Hawaiian islands, the Orient, or places in North America or Europe, we should endeavor to know more about the cultures and way of life in these destinations.

One destination in particular, are the Caribbean islands, a pepper pot of islands all melted into a spicy fare of everything exotic and cultural.

For instance, in the Caribbean, you have the Spanish, Dutch, Danish, French and British influences and those influences are reflected in some of the food. Since travel and food go together, it makes for a very interesting mix of cultures and food. My Travels & Food

One of Jamaica's staple dishes is ackee and salt fish. Barbados, called little England, is famous for their flying fish. Trinidad with it's large Indian population tosses in a bit of mango chutney and curry into most of their dishes for a mouth watering joy.  Return To Home Page
